About Family Therapy
Therapy Sessions for families are 60 minutes. Family therapy focuses on strengthening relationships and improving communication within the family unit in a mindful and supportive way. I work with families to explore the emotional dynamics and patterns that influence interactions, helping each member understand their role in these cycles. Together, we identify challenges and uncover underlying emotions that may be driving conflict or disconnection. Through this process, families are encouraged to create new ways of interacting that foster empathy, mutual understanding, and deeper emotional bonds.
Important Details
Therapy Method
I work with families, individuals, and couples struggling with connection and communication. I use Emotionally Focused Therapy and a mindfulness-based approach, grounded in a systemic and holistic perspective. I believe each of us has the inner strength and wisdom to overcome challenges and reach our potential. My approach is empathetic, non-judgmental, and collaborative, guiding clients toward meaningful solutions.
Who I serve
I work with people facing challenges like depression, anxiety, or trauma, often rooted in relationships or family dynamics. In our initial sessions, I'll take the time to get to know you and explore your family history, so we can dive into the issues that feel most challenging. Together, we'll work toward understanding what holds you back and uncovering pathways to healing and growth. I do not service couples that have active drug use or domestic violence, but can provide you resources for those clinicians that do.
Cost of Therapy
Family Sessions are $225 per session for a 60 minute session. Some families need up to 90 minutes which is $275. You can specify the length of the session you would like in advance. I offer a limited number of reduced fee sessions on my schedule. Please contact me if you think a reduced fee session will meet your needs.
Insurance
At Mindful Couples and Family Therapy, I operate as a private-pay practice, offering personalized, focused care without the constraints of insurance networks. Upon request, I can provide a superbill, which you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Please note that reimbursement depends on your individual insurance plan and coverage.Payment is required at the time of service either by credit or debit card.
Attendance and Cancellations
Consistency is important for the therapeutic process, and I strive to maintain a schedule that supports all clients’ needs. If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Late cancellations (same-day cancellations) and no-shows will be charged the full session fee, as this time has been reserved specifically for you. However, I understand that unexpected circumstances can arise. In the case of an extenuating circumstance, please contact me directly, and I will do my best to accommodate your situation. To maintain the consistency and effectiveness of therapy, it’s important to honor scheduled appointments. If you have three late cancellations (same-day cancellations) or no-shows, your therapist may choose to refer you to another counseling office that can better accommodate your scheduling needs. In such cases, your case with Mindful Couples and Family Therapy may be closed. Please note that arriving more than 15 minutes late to a scheduled appointment will be considered a late cancellation, and the session will be canceled. The full session fee will apply unless prior arrangements have been made with your therapist.
